Gallery of Figures and Portraits
Fine art and commissioned works of People.
The Veil (2005)
Oil on Canvas 30 x 40 inches.
Available at Miller Gallery
I want this painting to speak for itself. This painting is the result of work done by Amber Wright and myself. Amber did the stock and modeling and I did the painting.
John Henry (2007)
Oil on Canvas 48 x 72 inches.
Available at Miller Gallery
John Henry; American legend.

Gallery of Maine Landscapes
Scenes around the artists summer studio including Bluehill, Brooksville, Bar Harbor, Acadia Parks, Monhegan, Ilesboro, Isle Au Haut, East Penobscott Bay area, and The Oakland House Seaside Resort.
East Acadia Shore (2007)
Oil on canvas board 15 3/4 x 11 3/4 inches (40 x 30 cm).
Available $175
This is what I came up with for an early evening East side of Acadia painting. I wanted to get the rich low light colors on the rocks and trees while portraying the background hills truthfully. Strokework on this painting is semi loose, but refined enough to be realistic. The digital is good, but its a little blurry. There is a little restaurant in the distance and this is painted accurately to the scene.
Unpacking for Day Trip (2007)
Oil on canvas 13 x 10 1/2 inches (33 x 27 cm).
Available $125
The line between adstraction and realism is quite hard to find. So, I tried to find it with this painting which was painted over a week because I wanted to let each color dry before layering. The digital is showing the scene well, but the colors are richer (browns/violets/whites).
Oakland House Cabin (2008)
Oil on canvas 14 x 11 inches.
Available $175
This is a straight forward painting without any artistic tricks. The palette is simple and precise and the cabin cozy and a little welcoming. My primary concern here was a truthful representation of the blues in the snow in all levels of view.

Gallery of Landscapes
Scenes around the artists birthplace including lower Ohio, Eastern Indiana, northern Kentucky, and now Europe.
Old Town Restaurant (2008)
Oil on canvas board 15 3/4 x 11 3/4 inches (40 x 30 cm).
Available $275
Here is a charming early evening scene from Warsaw. This is within the old town and close to the center square. Activity was light this evening as it had been raining all day. This composition was a challenge as its a little two sided, but there is enough detail to keep the viewer on the scene. I enhanced some of the puddles and reflections a bit and this was painted with a 2 layer dry brush method similar to the wall demo.
Old Town Edge (2008)
Oil on Canvas Board 11 x 14 inches.
Available $175
90% of the work on this painting was figuring out the palette. The composition is rather simple and works rather well without much fuss. I carefully balanced the tones and hues to create a painting that is just as strong in the sky as the land forms while maintaining the viewers attention.
Stopping in the Greenhouses (2008)
Oil on Canvas 11 x 14 inches.
Available $175 (SOLD may15)
A quick study of some private gardens in Poland. Individual plots were about the size of 1/2 of a basketball court and most had some type of greenhouse and very efficient use of space. With this painting I just wanted to viewer to grasp the structures and late day tone of the setting without a bunch of detail.
Teacher's Break (2008)
Oil on Canvas 11 x 14 inches.
Available $175
A composition of strong building elements brings the scene here together. The palette is fairly open and I wanted the viewer to develope their own interpretation of the reflections in the window and on the trash can form. The digital is a little washed out and warped.
Last Light over the Cloth Hall (2008)
Oil on Canvas 19.75 x 27.5 inches (70 x 50 cm)
Available $900
This dry brush painting shows very well and allows the viewer several levels of interest. I painted this with the strongest artistic concern on hue and tone over their darker foundations. There are several none building structures that are not realistic intentionally. Digital is a little over exposed, but colors are close.

Gallery of other Paintings
Animal Portraits, Still lifes, Misc Paintings, and paintings that don't fit in the other categories.
