December 23, 2010

Merry Christmas from the Whitehead Gallery. I'll be out of town from Thursday to Sunday and will have limited email access during that time. Have fun and enjoy your holidays.

December 3, 2010

Lots of non-painting related projects are finished at home and I've got a couple new paintings to share this week and there are a few more that will be ready next week. The first three below are 14x11 and are will be priced at 275. The two below those are 6x8 and are priced at 100.

October 26, 2010

New painting up on ebay starting Sunday night at 11:15 PM (eastern) *edit: auction link corrected. I've been working on redoing our bathroom here and fell behind on painting. The bathroom is turning out very well, but I'm not quite done with it although the major work is done.

October 26, 2010

The small tomato painting didn't sell last night despite having a bunch of viewers. I relisted it starting Tuesday night and its running for a week. I'll get something new up on ebay as well on Thursday night; probably a Stonington morning scene that I'm working on now.

I updated a couple paintings below with the correct border color; one went to The Argosy Gallery and a couple of the others were sold. The paintings with a black border are available directly from the artist.

October 20, 2010

The paintings below are now for sale for the next couple days then they'll get seperated and some will go to the gallery sections on this site and others will go to the Argosy Gallery in Bar Harbor, Maine. Most of them are 8x6 inches and some are 14x11; click image for info and pricing.

October 18, 2010

Painting has been going extremely well and I have a small pile of paintings for the website and Argosy Gallery that I'll post mid week. Tonight I started a small still life on ebay and will continue having at least one painting there on up to Christmas. More Wednesday; thanks for stopping in.

September 26, 2010

Sales have been quite good the past couple weeks and unfortunately the selection of available paintings is not very impressive any more. Our trip to Ojcow on top of being in Maine for 2 weeks set me behind. This coming week I'll put up a couple Maine paintings and a couple still lives up in the gallery sections of the left.

Below is a picture of the hand shaped rock formation in Ojcow Park.

September 13, 2010

Last Thursday I arrived back to Warsaw after being in Maine for two weeks. I didn't bring my paints to the vacation state, but my easel and palette have been calling. Unfortunately I won't be able to get anything on canvas until next week. Tuesday we are going to stay near Ojców National Park, which is close to Cracow until Friday afternoon; I'll get some work done there which will help calm the creative monster inside a bit, but don't tell my wife. The Maine paintings in my mind that are pushing and elbowing about will have to wait until next week.

I dropped off 17 paintings to the Argosy Gallery 2 weeks ago and they've sold most of them. Today I updated the Argosy Gallery page to reflect which paintings they currently have. In the future I'll try to keep this as updated as possible, but its very likely that I won't be able to keep up with sales as the paintings sell quick during the prime vacation season.

I put up some pictures from my fall trip to Maine on my personal facebook page. I also changed the permissions on my facebook page so anyone with a facebook login can view the content (you don't have to be a friend).

I made a couple 3-D anaglyph pictures of some Maine stuff and put them with the others. The new ones are larger in size and all require normal red/blue 3d glasses to view.

September 5, 2010

I'm wrapping up my work here in Maine for 2010. I've got a couple days left and lucked out as this weekend is the Blue Hill Fair; I'll probably just have time to get some stock digitals to work from for later. This is the fair that features things like Timber Tina's Great Maine Lumberjack Show, skillet tossing, oxen pulls, and of course the sheep dogs. Charlotte's Web, by E. B. White had a scene at this fair and I'm not sure, but I think it is the oldest running fair in the states. I'll write some more on this later.

August 22, 2010

Justyna and I just got back from Piotrkow, Poland; we were there for the weekend to visit with family and friends. I'm also getting ready for a 2 week trip to Maine; I'll be there on this Wednesday. While there I'll be doing some work, dropping off more paintings to the Argosy Gallery, and participating in Jim's memorial.

Paintings that need to be shipped this week will be shipped from the Post office in Maine (there are a couple ending on ebay this week). Delivery times should be about the same or less and I'll email those folks.

August 11, 2010

All Galleries to the left have been updated with new paintings. The paintings below have been added as well. I've also added the Argosy Gallery section. I also found a couple link errors and those have been corrected. Thanks for stopping in and let me know if there are any problems with links or pictures.

August 8, 2010

Last week I had some great successes painting and have a few finished up. Here are some 14x11 inch paintings that'll be available after Monday. Some of the digitals will get redone when I get some good light.

July 27, 2010

The newsletter is done, but I want to finish up a couple paintings before sending it out. For those that frequently visit this site its at news 2010. Little boat painting below will go up on ebay later this week along with a nice still life.

I've added a little image legend to the left that shows the availability of paintings on this page. I'm trying out this setup for a bit; please feel free to send me some feedback if its not making sense which paintings are for sale or any other concerns.

July 23, 2010

I'm back from my 2010 trip to Maine. The reason I went so early this year was to be with my mom and late step-father as well as other family there. I'm putting together a short online newsletter that will be ready soon; I'll email those on my list when its up. I don't have anything for ebay for the next couple days, but over the next couple months there will be some great art available. Somehow over the last couple updates I let a bunch of typos in which have been located and removed.

There is now an image legend to the left under the menu part. You'll be able to see what is available where and if something is sold. I'll go through the gallery pages when I get back from Piotrkow.

July 11, 2010

Weather forecasts have been keeping me from Schoodic and Mt. Desert Isle so I've been doing more work around Brooksville. Today was the first day in quite a few that the weather forecast was correct - rain and fog. Its been partly cloudy at most the past week, but we've had warnings of rain, gloom, and fog. I've got a small painting up on ebay now; click picture above to go to that auction; it ends next Sunday a little later than normal (11:55pm EST). Its a sunset painting of Mark Island with lighthouse as viewed before we got the fog and rain a week ago.

June 27, 2010

It feels good to have my studio computer in Maine up, running, and online and be able to get an update here; this update isn't very exciting though. One thing I need to note is I don't have my database emails here in Maine this year; this means that I can't send out email news, reminders, or auction announcements. As soon as I'm back in Poland I'll send around a well written newsletter late July.

Flight to Maine went well. Bus from Boston to Bangor was great. It took a bit of time to adjust back to English; several times I found myself speaking Polish.

I went to Bar Harbor today to stop in at the Argosy Gallery and to do some work, but somehow the work part ended up shopping for some jeans and food items. Monday I'm going to set up the studio painting area and get to work. As this is written I have no idea what the first painting will be, but I've got a pile of supplies along with canvas and some energy. I'll try to get something up on ebay by Thursday as well.

June 22, 2010

I'm going to Maine this Wednesday to be with family for a month. I'll be in my studio there, but may not be painting for some amount of time. I wish I had more to say about this right now, but it is an un-scheduled trip.

I'll have email and computer access and will be updating more once I get there. Lots of love for you, my friends and family, during this challenging time.

June 14, 2010

Two 14 x 11 paintings done that will be for sale very soon; they are needing of a varnish and final digitals. edit: Both are at the Argosy Gallery in Bar Harbor.

Big News

After researching for quite some time and chatting with different folks I've found a good gallery to show work in and they have accepted me. Many paintings on this site are already on their way to there. I haven't decided how to adjust the gallery sections of this website yet, but currently works that will be shown at The Argosy Gallery are noted as such in the details of each painting. The gallery will be selling a mix of my work, but mostly the Maine scenes since they are located in Bar Harbor, Maine.

I've got two small paintings that will go up on ebay Thursday.

May 25, 2010

Painting below is now for sale at $125; its 9.5x11.75 inches on canvas board; its titled, Acadia Cliffs.

Wedding in Lodz was absolutely super. Beautiful couple, church, party, party, and group. I said party twice because Polish receptions last two days. Unfortunately I didn't get a lot of pictures, but I will put a couple up on my personal facebook page.

May 21, 2010

Justyna and I are going to a wedding this weekend in Lodz (pronounced Wooch). I'm still working on a couple larger works, but I made sure to have time for a couple fun paintings as well. Here is one that will be ready to sell next week.

May 17, 2010

Some of the older updates went to the old update page as this page was getting a little long. My Polish homework is piling up so today's update won't have any pictures, but I'll turn on the brush icon to the left :)

Have fun everyone.

May 13, 2010

Trip to Gdansk went perfect and I didn't do much work while there which means it was a real vacation. This past month I've been working on a couple larger paintings that are part of a small collection as I'm working on finding a good gallery in the states to help sell paintings this summer and after. I've got a couple small paintings that I'll put up on ebay this week. There are couple Maine, 1 Poland farm scene (starting tonight), 1 sunset (see below), and a couple others.

April 23, 2010

I'm going to be in Gdansk for the weekend and I should have email access. I'm scheduled to return on Monday night. Have fun everyone.

April 12, 2010

I put a couple pictures from the streets of Warsaw (Sunday night) up on my personal facebook page in light of the tragedy here. Justyna and I felt it was necessary to be among our countrymen.

I've been selling paintings on Allegro and have one ending tonight. The paintings are small to start with as I get new customers. Here is Apple Composition V that ending tonight.

April 7, 2010

I just got back from Piotrkow, Poland for Easter and I'm trying to catch up on a couple things. The website was behind for a couple days there, but the ebay link at the top is correct now. I've got a couple small Maine scenes that will be available over the weekend and into next week.

Don't forget that my facebook: Whitehead Gallery page is up and its starting to get some content. I've got some progress or time lapse painting type content planned for it next week and will continue to put up to date paintings on it, but this page will continue to have the most current news and updates.

April 1, 2010

In order to progress as an artist I've decided to paint everything upside down. Here is the first using this technique. This one titled, Square Plate with Apples, is 24 x 18 cm.

March 17, 2010

Finished this up yesterday; 6 x 8 inch painting for ebay. Look for that to start this Friday and end on the 2nd Monday after. There is a Monhegan painting started this Thursday as well.

This week I started my professional facebook page; check it out here facebook: Whitehead Gallery. Currently it only has a couple gallery pages of sold work, but I'll be adding stuff for both collectors and painters as time allows.

March 12, 2010

Finished this up yesterday; 20 x 20 cm painting for Allegro.pl. I'm having some good success applying some new techniques I've been working on with still life work. Thanks for stopping in.

March 8, 2010

Finished this up today. Most of the painting was done last week and the week before, but after some consideration over the weekend I decided to remove the brochure box next to the front door and go with this composition. There is one more painting in my mind featuring this building complex; its a morning scene. I've done a number of mid day and into the evening scenes so I'm looking forward to the morning challenge. I'll start on Wednesday after class.

Allegro (similar to ebay, but popular in East Europe) has been doing better and I'll have a couple still lives for that next week. Today I went out to the large grocery store and picked up a very odd collection of produce to paint. The checkout clerk got quite a laugh at the items I had.... Two small pears, a lime, palmagranite, grapes, micro green cabbage head, a granny smith apple, some other normal produce, and of coconut. I'll try to have a couple new still lives for ebay in the next couple weeks as well.

February 15, 2010

My first painting on Allegro.pl ended last night and with a good number of views. The second painting, titled, Pomorska Wies will start this Wednesday at 22:35 CET (4:35 pm EST)

I've made a couple small updates / changes to the site and corrected the tag words on one of the ebay paintings. I'll be working on some advertisements for the rest of today, but I'll have some great paintings later this week. The previously sold art on ebay page got a couple changes and updates; there is no formal link to this page on the left menu; there is a link on each auction.

Evening edit: I was able to get some good digitals of these two paintings (below) that are now available in the Europe gallery.

January 28, 2010

(edit) Crab with Barnacle and Seagull Buddies sold; thank you.

January 23, 2010

Its been a little while since I made an update as I've got a bunch of new things going on. Firstly there is a painting starting on allegro.pl this Sunday. Allegro is the Polish version of ebay and quite similar. The first painting for that has been in my gallery here for a little while and I think it'll make a great starter for allegro. Justyna helped me with the translations for the auctions. For now I'll just be selling Polish scenes on allegro and American compositions on my website and ebay. There hasn't been much demand for paintings of Poland in the states so it'll work out well.

On a side note I'm back in class again learning Polish on Wednesday and Fridays.

I've got a couple new works that'll be available here for a time and then go up on ebay (see below); the third one is a vertical painting.

Starting last month sold paintings that are seen on this page will have a red border; if there is no red border and its newer than this post then click the picture for a larger view and details.

January 12, 2009

Large work in Progress; its from work done this past summer. Apparently they repainted the red house a different red sometime between 2007 and 2009. This painting is still needing some refinement / detail and some tonal changes; I'll announce completion later in February.
