September, 2011Firstly I would like to say that I'm sorry that updates for the site are behind. As a proud new father its been very hard to keep a consistent schedule which allows for proper updates and interesting information to be posted. I consider myself truly blessed in so many ways, but especially so because of a wonderful customer base and hard working gallery and I know that as time goes by I'll be able to get some quality posts back into the mix along with painting and being an active father.
Paintings are selling extremely well at the Argosy Gallery and I've not been able to keep up with demand. Please keep in touch with them as there are 16 paintings that will be ready a little later this September.
I added 4 paintings to the Maine gallery. See thumbs below. All can be purchased directly through paypal, but feel free to email me for other arrangements; I can hold paintings too.

July 18, 2011The archives are up. I've added over 100 paintings to help make those pages and they are easy to navigate with your back button. I still have half a day to paint so I'm going to get back to the canvas.

July 17, 2011Paintings are selling well and unfortunately I have very few available at this time. Part of this problem is the series of larger paintings that I've been working on. I'm near finished with the last of the larger paintings and will get back into the 11x14 and 6x8 paintings this week.
Also, I've been posting the best paintings up on my facebook page which is available to anyone (not just friends) so please check there for the most recent information and feel free to add me as a friend.

June 27, 2011Two new paintings in the Maine section. One is small. The larger one proved to be quite diffilcult to get a good digital of. see below:

There waere a bunch of sales over the weekend (thank you) and some of the other paintings are being shipped to Argosy Gallery. Unfortunately this leaves my Maine painting supply rather low; I'll work hard to get caught back up. I'm starting to do competitions and online shows again as time permits so I added a link for that above which will also link to The Argosy Gallery. The archives are also being updated. I'll send out an email to everyone once everything is done with the site and I've got a decent supply of Maine paintings.

June 25, 2011I've been working around the clock on new paintings that are the results of my most recent study on form, transitions, palette, and subject theory; the application of these new ideas has me very excited (see new paintings below). Some of these are going to Argosy Gallery soon so they don't all have pages this second.
Also I just wanted to remind folks that I'll do commissions of family friends of any variety. Here is my most recent painting of such and is titled, Valerie's Old Friend.

April 29, 2011We took a long Easter vacation (par for Poles), but I'm back to work. I've been doing a couple experimental paintings and working with some new ideas that aren't producing finished canvases, but undoubtedly some of the techniques will appear on some finished future work. Below is a oil sketch done on commission. Please email me if you are interested in having your own painting done. Pricing for this one was $150 (6x8inches), but I can work under and over that depending on sizes. Feel free to email me at Bryan@whiteheadgallery.com.

April 4, 2011The website redesign is done now and I'm working on updating and adding content to the new format. I've hand typed all of the HTML so load times should be as fast as possible. Many of the link names have been changed; I'll leave old pages up for another couple months. After that I'll remove that old content and put forwards to the new.

April 1, 2011I've decided to cut up a number of my paintings into 1 inch squares. The new pieces will make wonderful small paintings for doll houses, small cars, suitcases, and wallets. The pricing will be slightly reduced (from rounding); an 11 x 14 painting that originally cost $275 will yield 154 pieces at $1.75 each. These will be available soon so please stop back.

March 21, 2011I fixed a couple of links and straighted up some of the new content, but the site is still not done yet.
Painting number two is done from the series I've been hard at work on. Number 3 should be done late this week.

March 15, 2011Major website redesign is nearly complete. I've moved over the content from the old site and will continue updating the new with some new features. The old site was a little too verbose for new visitors; I've corrected that as well as some other design issues. Old pages will be written over or forwarded to the new. I hope you like the new look.

March 11, 2011Pondering the Penobscot is done, but not available yet; its 24 x 30 inches on stretched canvas. I'm working on an impressive collection of larger paintings (all 24x30) that will be part of a promotional package and future show. Below is the first which has a wonderful layering of paint and strong contrasting forms to set it apart from others in a crowd. Composition is straight forward without any tricks and stroke work is medium with essentially no impasto.

I'm working with some new canvas on these which is very nice. The wood stretchers were custom made for me by Alerama and the canvas is Caravaggio cotton. Mid next week I'll have the second painting done.

February 22, 2011Gdansk Station is complete; its 14x11 inches on board. I added it to the Europe Gallery on the left.

February 22, 2011Wiktor is growing very well at home and is eating and sleeping like a champion. Meanwhile I've taken a break from painting to help with him and to do considerable artistic research. I'll be back to full painting mode next week and will have some work to offer then.
I've gotten very good at changing diapers and clothing, but I still haven't quite figured out burping technology; Wiktor is trying to trick me by sometimes having burpable air and sometimes not.

February 8, 2011Someone forgot to bid last night on this I think :) I'll offer a second chance on this nice winter scene for a couple weeks.

February 5, 2011I updated a couple things on the site and changed the link for The Argosy Gallery. The Argosy Gallery has been selling my work for nearly a year and I've been having a hard time keeping up with what paintings are available, on hold, or sold. To fix this I just made a direct link to my paintings from their gallery. Its the In Argosy link in the left menu. You might have noticed that there is a slight difference in pricing; the reason for that is they sell the paintings in very nice gold frames and I just sell paintings.

February 2, 2011Paintings below are available in the Maine Gallery section to the left.

January 31, 2011Its almost been an entire month since my last update and unfortunately I don't have a lot to report related to art or painting. On the flip side all of the nest lining is completed in Warsaw and my wife and I are ready for our first born, who is due mid February. I won't go into details on all the projects that were completed, but its a good feeling to have everything done.
There are a couple great paintings up on ebay this week; one ends Monday the 7th and the other on Thursday the 10th. I'll have plenty of painting time up until Wiktor's birth day now.

January 1, 2011Happy New Year. The past couple months I've been tinkering with Adobe Flex during some free time. Flex is an open source framework for building web applications that'll work with all browsers that have the flash plugin installed. I took advantage of the 90 day trial of flex builder 3 and compiled a flash application that will pull data from ebay based on specific criteria and display the results above. So basically if I have something on ebay it'll automatically get shown above (up to two items that would be ending soonest). Sounds boring I know, but it'll save quite a bit of time in the future that should be spent on painting.
If you find any bugs with it please let me know. There are two paintings starting Sunday night at 11:15 that will show up above once active.
