Tatra Mountains
The largest mountain range in Poland. This is a very well maintained hiking complex with excellent trails, lots of mountains and hikes of various levels of physical requirements. We were here at the top of the season and the trails were always busy with nice people from all over Europe.
View of the Tatras from common area in Zakopane. low sun evening.
Random cottage on one of the mountains. Zakopane is in the valley between this ski mountain and the rest of the Tatras. We hiked up this one and road the ski lift down. It was a fairly tough hike as the incline was consistant and the sun was hot.
Here is the lift we took down.
halfway up one of the hikes we did.
 halfway down another hike.
These nuns were totally tough and ruthless.
Creek view on the easy trail we did second day. It took most of the day to complete with the hard part being climbing steep steps for an hour.
At some point before this picture was taken my camera lense got dirty and many pictures have this haze unfortunately. Its one of the largest higher elevation lakes.
This is the hardest hike we did. It took about an hour to get to this field and another 2 to get to the top in the distance; lots of cut backs and steps.
On top of rim. Basically we hiked up the mountain for 3 hours and then walked the top rim for another 2 hours and took a two part lift down.
Large vans would ferry people to and from Zakopane. Here Justyna and I road shotgun. Justyna had done all of this before and easily navigated us to the appropriate busses and such. It was confusing to me which bus goes where and where they departed from different spots.
